Woollen Discount Sale & Readymade Mahotsav
A Woollen Discount Sale & Readymade Mahotsav was organised from 15th to 31st January, 2010. A large number of customers availed the benefits from attractive discount offers.

Holi Sale
India is a land of festivals. All year round we have a number of festivals. These festivals witness a good amount of shopping from the people. Understanding the customs and traditions of our customers, Jalan’s organises a Holi Sale. This year it was held from 20th to 28th February, 2010. During the sale period heavy footfalls were seen as a large number of customers made their purchases.

Jalan`s Cutpiece Sale
Once a year a sale is organised for the Jalan`s Cutpiece Centre also despite the fact that it is already at a very marginal rate. People from the lower strata of the society make their purchases from here. This year it was held from 10th to 21st March, 2010.

Shramshakti Samman Samaroh
Jalan Group firmly believes that the success of the organisation relies solely on the efforts of its dedicated and efficient workforce. So every year they organise “Shramshakti Samman Samaroh” to felicitate its staff for their commendable performances. This year the function was held on 25th March, 2010 at Shri Hanuman Prasad Poddar Andh Vidyalaya. Durgakund, Varanasi in the auspicious presence of founder Shri Deendayal Jalan, Mr. Ashok Gupta. Chairman of Banaras Beads and Padmabhushan Pandit Channulal ji Mishra. This event gives a chance to all the employees to showcase their extra-curricular talents. The employees put up an entertaining cultural program in the form of songs, dance, game show, fashion show etc. Various awards that were distributed at the function included 25 years of service, service in retail since inception, 5S, P Marking, customer service, best performance best staff of the year etc. 245 employees were awarded over a span of 12 categories.

Saree Mela
Before the wedding season starts, in order to enhance customer’s awareness about latest creations, new styles and fashion, a Saree Mela was organised. New varieties were displayed for the customers so that before making their wedding related purchases they know the current market trends. This year the event was held from 15th to 25th April and received an overwhelming response from the customers.

Lagan Mahotsav
Jalan’s specializes in wedding shopping as it houses a wide variety and range of all required products under one roof. So the wedding period witnesses special marketing campaigns and extra customer care efforts. The duration of the Lagan Mahotsav was from 1st May to 25th June, 2010. During this period coupons were distributed on a purchase of more than Rs.500. At the end of it a lucky draw was organised in which a total of 200 prizes were given including a bike, television and refrigerator. Customers showed a lot of enthusiasm for the lucky draw.

Mega Sale
The garment industry world over has a trend of keeping their annual stock clearance sale in the months of July and August. Jalan’s also follows the footprints of the world leaders. This year the Mega Sale was held from 13th July to 15th August, 2010. The major attractions of the sale were some attractive offers like Khul Ja Sim Sim, Combo Pack offers like 3 ladies suit for just Rs.199 Teej Mahotsava Women are the purchase head in most of the households in India. Teej is a women specific occasion, whereby a lot of purchases are made of itema like Sarees, Suits, and Jewellery etc. With the intention of making this event special for ladies, a mehndi program was organised for the customers and also a new addition was made in the form of a Jewellery Counter in the store. The counter sold Payal and Bichiya (typical Teej items) of pure silver.

Free Photography
Time and again Jalan’s has been known for coming up with interesting marketing campaigns for its customers. From 18th to 25th September, 2010 a free photography event was organised at the store, whereby customers could have free family photos. Moreover, aspiring models could also have their pictures clicked. Few best shots will be selected and with the permission of the customer will be used in the advertisements.

Basant Panchami Muhurt Bikri
Basant Panchami Muhurt Bikri is an annual ritual. It marks the celebration of the Pooja of New Accounts. This year it was celebrated on the 20th January. The entire event spanned from 17th January to 23rd January, 2010. The event was attended by the directors and officers of various mills who came forward to guide our retailers and at the same time the retailers also assembled in large numbers depicting their enthusiasm. They ensured that they buy new varieties according to latest trends and their own requirements. There was a Bumper Scheme under which on a purchase of Rs.5 lakhs a motorbike was awarded. Under the Super Bumper scheme, a purchase of Rs.9 lakhs won the retailers a foreign tour of 3 nights in Singapore and 2 nights in Star Cruise. A large number of retailers took benefit from these schemes. The lucky coupon offer was also a big attraction for every retailer. Jalan Synthetics was offering a lucky coupon on a purchase of just Rs.10000. The first prize of this lucky draw was a Tata Nano Car.

Lagan Advance Booking
The huge amount of sale that happens during Lagan makes it difficult for retailers to amass all varieties and range and excessive pressure makes purchasing difficult. So in order to make this easy for the retailers “Lagan Advance Booking” was organised this year also from 22nd to 24th March, 2010. The retailers were offered attractive schemes in departments like Suiting, Shirting, Sarees, Poplin, Rubia, Dhoti, Fancy Saree, Surat Saree and Ladies Suit.

Tata Nano Draw
Lucky coupons were distributed to 1487 retailers at the time of Basant Panchami Muhurt Utsav. The Tata Nano Lucky Draw was organised on 24th March, 2010. Mr. Haji Nizamuddin from Naaz Sameer Suit Ghar, Badi Bazaar, Varanasi won the Tata Nano. In addition to this 16 consolation prizes were also given.

Eid Booking
On the 4th and 5th July, 2010 an event was organised in Jalan Synthetics, Ramanand Complex, Rohania, Varanasi for Eid and upcoming season display and booking. The function received an overwhelming response from the customers who gathered in large numbers to benefit from the event.

Ladies Suit Mela
Keeping in mind the arrival of Eid and other festivals, Jalan Synthetics organised a Ladies Suit Mela from 9th to 14th August, 2010. During this event latest creation, varieties and designer suits were made available to the retailers along with various gift items.

Surat and Fancy Saree Mela
For upcoming occasions like Teej and other festivals, Surat and Fancy Saree Mela were organised from 16th to 21st August, 2010. Sarees of all varieties and all ranges were made available to the customers. It included a large collection of Laser, Resham Work, Sequence work, Premium Chiffon Work, Value Addition etc.

Reid and Taylor Customer Meet
One of the premium brands of the country, Reid & Taylor has made the Jalan Group its wholesale distributor for the region. On September 7, 2010 it organised a customer care meet in Hotel Radisson, Varanasi, in which 125 leading customers of the firm participated. This meet was organised for the first time in which customers made bookings for Reid & Taylor.
